How To Save Money On Your Wedding Day

By Nicole L. Arnolds

One of the concerns that couple have when they’re getting married is the money that they’re going to spend. They may be financially ready or not, but the amount of money that you’ll be spending on this day is indeed a cause of concern. So here are some tips on how you can save a lot of money on your wedding day:

Use The Skills Of The People Who Will Be A Part Of Your Wedding

You may have a friend or a relative who’s really good at putting makeup on. In fact, you may have a friend or a relative who is a professional makeup artist. So why hire a hair and makeup artist when you can just tap into your friend or your relative’s skills? Instead of them worrying about the gift they’ll give you, then can just provide you their skill instead.

Also, if you have a friend or a relative who’s really good at decorating venues or making cakes, ask them to decorate the venue for you and make your cake. This will be their gift to you. They would be more than happy to do this.
Again, just tap into the skills of your dear friends and relatives. This will save you a lot of money.

Honeymoon Budget

You can inform your friends, relatives and other guests that instead of buying you material gifts, they can just help you pool some funds for your honeymoon. It doesn’t matter how much they would give you; what matters is the fact that you won’t have to spend so much on your honeymoon. It makes sense, right?

You can also make a wedding list if you want. Allow your guests to check on the things that they want to help you with. For example, they can donate cash for your honeymoon, for your apartment or for the new extension in your house. The list goes on. Don’t worry your guest would be more than willing to do this for you since it will save them a lot of time thinking of what useful thing to give you.

Dresses

Instead of telling your bridesmaid to pay for a dress that they will only use once, ask them to buy a dress that they can use even after the wedding. This means that you need to choose a theme that allows them to buy dresses that can be used after the wedding. You’ll make your bridesmaids very happy.

As for your own dress, find a picture of a nice dress online and buy a cheap dress that a good local dressmaker can alter to make it look like the dress that you want to wear.
